01 / OVERVIEW
Film productions and live events require dependable temporary power across changing locations, schedules and load conditions. Lighting, video walls, sound systems, production equipment, HVAC and support areas can create short periods of high demand followed by long periods of relatively low consumption.

Generators are often sized for the largest anticipated load and then operated throughout the production day or event window. This can result in extended low-load operation, unnecessary fuel consumption, frequent refueling and generator noise near production crews, performers and attendees.

ChargeHives™ provide mobile battery power for film, broadcast and live-event applications. They can operate from available venue power, alongside a generator or as a stand-alone power source for a defined operating period.
This allows temporary power capacity to be matched more closely to the production schedule while supporting high-demand equipment, quiet operating periods and overnight loads. This brief outlines how ChargeHives™ can support film and event applications through venue-supported, generator-hybrid and stand-alone configurations.

02 / DEPLOYMENT
How ChargeHives™ Are Deployed for Film and Events
ChargeHive™ deployment is based on the available power source, production schedule, load profile and required operating duration. The system can be configured around three common temporary-power conditions.

Limited Utility Power: ChargeHive™ supplements available venue power when the existing electrical service cannot support the full production or event load. The system can recharge during lower-demand periods and supply additional power when lighting, sound, video or other equipment increases demand.
Best suited for: Venues with limited electrical capacity, temporary installations, remote production areas and applications where installing additional utility service would be impractical.
Generator Hybrid: A smaller generator supplies sustained demand and recharges the ChargeHive™ when capacity is available. The ChargeHive™ supports short-duration peaks and changing production loads, while stored energy can supply the site during quiet periods when the generator is turned off.
Best suited for: Remote productions, outdoor events, extended operating schedules, intermittent high-power loads and locations where generator noise or refueling creates operational challenges.

Stand-Alone Mobile Power: A precharged ChargeHive™ supplies a defined production period, event window or dedicated group of loads without an operating generator. The unit can be recharged from venue power, an available electrical source or a generator between operating periods.
Best suited for: Sound-sensitive filming, audience-facing areas, overnight production support, broadcast equipment, lighting departments and temporary power zones where generator operation is undesirable.

For this application, a HiveCore™ is paired with a 45 kW prime diesel generator in place of the existing 175 kW generator. The generator supplies sustained site demand and recharges the battery whenever its available output exceeds the active load. HiveCore™ supplements the generator during higher-demand periods, including production-lighting events and site peaks up to 150 kW. During lower-demand and overnight periods, stored energy can supply the production compound while the generator is turned off. This configuration provides on-location battery charging without requiring a separate utility connection or taking the system out of service to recharge.
Operating Condition
System Reponse
Demand below 45 kW
Generator supplies the load and uses available capacity to charge the HiveCore
Demand above 45 kW
HiveCore supplements the generator and supplies the difference
Peak demand up to 150 kW
The 45 kW generator and HiveCore operate together; HiveCore supplies up to approximately 105 kW
Low-demand and overnight periods
Battery reserve is reached
HiveCore can supply the 5 kW baseline while the generator is off
Generator restarts and supplies the load while recharging the battery
